White Sands

This year, we got an annual pass to White Sands! It's such a great buy! Noah loves White Sands. This last time we went with a LOT of family! He got to go "sledding" with everyone. The faster, the better for Noah. :)

The next full moon night is in a few days....I think it's time to go again!

Surprise: You're going to Las Vegas!

Noah and I recently drove up to Albuquerque to visit my brother, Ryan. He surprised us and told us we were going to go to Las Vegas!!! I had no idea! So, we packed up the car and were off to Las Vegas! We arrived about 1 a.m. Ryan had booked a room at the Mirage. It was beautiful! Unfortunately, Ryan also had to go to the hospital that night due to a kidney stone. Noah was a trooper and slept on me the whole night in the emergency room waiting room. Ryan got some relief from medication and was able to get out at about 8 a.m. We rested and Ryan was ready to go to Caesar's Palace that evening. We had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. It's one of my favorite places-Paradise Tea, crispy chicken costaletta, and Godiva cheesecake! What's not to like? Noah loved the enormous aquarium he could see from our table. He'd rather watch the fish, than eat!
The next day, we went to MGM Grand, the M&M Store, and the Coke Store. I let Noah make his own bag of M&Ms. He wanted every kind in the store! We also enjoyed Coke floats in the Coke store. It was so refreshing after being in the 109 degree heat! I could totally buy a lot of things in both those stores if everything weren't so expensive!
When we went to the Bellagio, Noah really enjoyed looking at the gardens. It had a garden theme with ants, ladybugs, frogs, bees, etc...Most of it was made out of flowers. It was so beautiful. Noah didn't really care for the dancing fountains because of the loud noises they make. I loved them. We saw one show to "God Bless the U.S.A." It was great!
At the Venetian, Noah liked seeing the "boats." Ryan is hilarious to watch at the Venetian. He cringes when someone opens their mouth to start singing. Most of them could use a little help!
As we were getting ready to leave Las Vegas (we just filled up with gas), my car wouldn't start!! We ended up having to get a new, EXPENSIVE battery for my car. Everything took so long, we ended up staying another night! (I know, so sad...) We stayed at the Las Vegas Hilton that night and ate at Benihana. It was so good! Noah loved it and had a great time using chopsticks!
We left the next day and stayed in Flagstaff on the way home. Noah got to see his cousins Emmanuel and Elena. We all went swimming together. (They were on their way to Las Vegas & Disneyland.)
We had such a wonderful time!!! Thank you so much, Ryan!!! (Ryan's doing much better, now, by the way.)

4th Anniversary

For our 4th Anniversary, we went to Ruidoso, NM. We stayed at the Inn of the Mountain gods. We had a great time. Our room overlooked the lake surrounded by the mountains.

Noah did NOT like the statues of the Native Americans there. They were scary looking. He said, "Get back. Get back." He had a wonderful time feeding Cheetos to the ducks. He would throw a Cheeto out and say, "You like that, duckies? You like that?" Then, he would just laugh and laugh. Ricky got a chance to play some slots. They were kind of stingy!

We had a great time celebrating our four years together! What a beautiful setting. :)

Swim Lessons

Noah has 4 swimming lessons "under his belt!" The class is for 3 to 5 year olds. He turns 3 in 1 month so I put him in this class. I wondered if it would be too much seeing as how parents don't get in the pool, too. The teachers at the YWCA are really great and patient. There are 9 students and 2 teachers. Each teacher takes a child one at a time and works on a particular skill. Noah has done very well entertaining himself in the water when it's not his turn.

The first day of class, the teacher wanted him to jump to her (which he wouldn't do), blow bubbles in the water (which he wouldn't do), and kick his legs (which he did). That afternoon, I took him back to the pool (which is outside, the "teaching pool" is small and inside) to have fun and try some of those skills. He learned to blow bubbles, jump from the side without holding my fingers, being "Spiderman" on the wall, etc...It was exciting to see him try and have fun. I couldn't wait for the next day so he could show his teachers what he could do.

Guess what, Day #2 Lessons: He had fun, but he didn't do any of the things we practiced! He told his teacher, "I can only blow bubbles in the outside pool with Mama!"

Well, we've finished 4 lessons now. He will jump to the teacher but still refuses to blow bubbles. Too funny! I do know the important thing is to have fun in the water and learn a little bit about swimming.

Noah Loves Hotels!

Noah loves hotels! In fact, he often tells me he lives at a particular hotel when we drive by it! So, he was so excited to learn we were going to a hotel today! He loves doing the elevator buttons, packing his suitcase, and toting that suitcase everywhere! At home, that suitcase stays out in his room because Noah loves to play with it!

When we were getting ready to walk out our door this morning, he announced, "I packed my sunglasses!"
I love how he knows so much about traveling! He's my little traveler & always has been. He took his 1st big trip at 5 weeks old & his first plane ride (from El Paso to LAX) at 3 months old, and hasn't turned back since!

Dentist Visit

Noah had a great time at the dentist! No cavities! :) His dentist, Dr. Bowden, is awesome. Everything is so kid-friendly. He could play in a rocket ship or watch a movie while we waited. He also got to earn tokens to put in prize machines. He ended the visit by getting a medal, a balloon, and some ice cream. Noah actually didn't want to leave the dentist's office. What a great experience!

Backyard Fun!

Noah loves his new swing set!

Noah is Funny

Noah is cracking me up lately! This is a picture of him at Lowe's. When we walked in, he took a deep breath and said, "It smells good in here!"
Of course, he had to ride all the "tractors." That was his reward for behaving in the store while we shopped. However, if any other kid got on one, he would get upset with them getting on his tractors! There were at least 12 tractors! Too funny!

During 4th of July fireworks, he kept yelling out, "Disneyland!"

Then tonight, as he was playing in his diner, he made me some coffee. He asked if I wanted ice cream. When I said I did, he told me I had to go potty first!
