Disneyland, March 2010

oul
We went to Disneyland for Spring Break! It was so much fun! Noah loved riding the Disneyland Train to get around to places. He would yell, "All Aboard!" Every time it stopped, he would say, "One more time."
He also loved riding Autopia. He got to drive while we did the pedals. He would order, "Hamburger, no pickles, french fries!" as he drove. So cute!
He loved the Many Adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh. He wanted to go again and again.
He loved controlling the rockets and the Dumbo ride.
He ate a traditional Disney churro. He can just about eat the whole thing by himself!
He even rode his first roller coaster in Toon Town. I think he would've liked it better if it wasn't so loud.
He really likes Disneyland. We shut it down almost midnight every night. He would take a 3 to 4 hour nap in the afternoon to make up for going to bed so late.
He also liked going to Laguna Beach. He enjoyed climbing the rocks and throwing sand at the waves.
Now that we're home, he's been asking to go to the hotel and to ride the train "one more time!"

Noah's Suitcase

Noah got his suitcase for Disneyland. He's been wanting his very own suitcase since we started talking about traveling. Tonight he's been pulling it around everywhere. He's put his cars in it. He puts it on the back of his "truck" (aka. Big Wheel) and drives it around. He's so excited.

A few minutes ago, he asked if we could go to Farmington right now to go see Bonnie and Carroll! He was ready to go! Too bad we can't just take off whenever we'd like!

I wonder what he'll put in it for our trip to Disneyland?

Some Bragging Moments on Noah

Noah is so smart!!! He constantly amazes us.

(Some websites post "spoiler alert" to not ruin the ending for someone. Well, today this is a "toilet story alert" in case you'd rather not read about this!)

For the last 2 weeks, we've been trying to potty-train him at home and at his home daycare. He's kind of been doing it at daycare, but at home, he pretty much flat out refuses lately. So I haven't pushed it. I know he'll do it when he's ready. He's 2 1/2 and I had tried to start it because one day he told me, "Mama. I don't want to change diapers anymore!"

So tonight I'm in the kitchen cooking dinner when I notice him sneak off to a room and shut the door. I followed him and quickly realized he had locked himself in the bathroom. I unlocked it to discover him pulling down his pull-up all by himself. He told me, "Go back to the kitchen, Mama."

So I pretended to go back. I shut the door where I could just see in. He got on the "grown-up" toilet instead of his little potty chair. I could see him get toilet paper several times. After a near fall-in, I opened the door and offered help. Reluctantly, he let me. To my amazement, not only had he used the toilet to go #2, he had also wiped himself! Wow!

So, later that night I went out and bought a little kid seat that fits on the regular seat so it's less likely he'll fall in.

While I was gone, he brought Ricky our wedding photo album. He often likes to "read" it with me. We talk about the pictures as we look at them. Well, he got to a page that had an extended family picture. Ricky expected him to point out Mama and Daddy. He did. Then he also pointed out Uncle Gerard, Gary (who lives out of town and he's seen a few times), and Darryl (same story as Gary!). Ricky couldn't believe he knew who they were.

Another interesting story lately about Noah is he can read so many signs. He knows Albertson's, Target, Hobby Lobby, McDonald's, Taco Bell, Taco Cabana...He also recognizes the capital A wherever he sees it.

I was also getting his things ready for daycare tomorrow. He saw I had written his name on his drinks. He asked, "Mama, name?"

He also recognizes the group "Casting Crowns." He tells me not to sing, because that's Daddy's music! (Even though they're my favorite band of all time and I introduced Daddy to their music! LOL)

He's amazing!

Last story for the night, one morning I was ordering breakfast at McDonald's on the way to school. As I was ordering, Noah yelled from the backseat, "Hamburger, no pickles. They're sour. French fries. Orange juice!"

I laughed so hard I could barely finish ordering. He cracks me up!!!

Spring Break Plans

This morning, my little Noah heard me discussing spring break plans with Ryan. Of course, we were talking about Disneyland! When Noah and I left the house later that day, he brought Mickey and Donald. On the way out to the car he asked, "Where's Noah's suitcase???"

He's so cute! I hope he can wait a few more weeks! He's so ready to go see Mickey Mouse! He is growing up on Disneyland! This will be his 5th trip! He went at 3 months old, 9 months old, 1 1/2 years old, almost 2 years old, and this trip, he'll be 2 1/2!

I'm glad he likes it! I sure do!!! :)

My Little Super Hero!

Noah got a superhero pajama set for Christmas. He doesn't really know what superheroes are, but he loves the fact that it has a cape and we sing, "Dun, da, da, dun! Super Noah!" He's hillarious! He won't even let you think about taking the cape off to go to bed. (It's attached with Velcro.)

Also, I took him with me today to buy everything for my class' ice cream sundae party tomorrow. He thought all of it was for him. He was so mad when I didn't take most of it out of the trunk. He stood by the garage door and tried to open it to get to the car! Finally, he realized I wasn't going to go get it. He's a mess!

Noah's Driving Help & New Backyard

Today we drove around and around different parking lots to try to get a space so we could go to church. Noah started yelling from the backseat, "Dada, Dada! Parking space over there! Right there!"

There were 3 handicap spaces available. :) We were amazed how he could understand what we wanted and verbalize a way to help us. Of course. he talks all the time, but we hadn't even been talking about "parking spaces" as we were driving. He never stops amazing us!

Also, we got our sidewalk poured around the house & backyard. The sod has also been laid. Noah is so happy to have a backyard he can play in! The first day he was able, he just ran around and around and around on the sidewalk!

Christmas 2009

We had a wonderful Christmas Day yesterday! Noah woke up to find the living room half-way covered in presents. He immediately got on his "Cars" Big Wheel and rode it all over. It was from Bonnie & Carroll. After that, everything he opened was from Bonnie & Carroll! He also snuck away while opening presents to eat a chocolate he had found in his stocking. I found him in the office with chocolate evidence all over his cute little face!

We also went over to Grampa's to open presents, followed by Uncle Gerard's. Noah had a great time opening presents everywhere he went. On the way home, he fell asleep. He was tired out from all the fun. He slept a good 2 1/2 hours at nap time!

Ryan was here and made us a wonderful Christmas dinner. We had honey-baked ham, green bean casserole, sweet potato pie, fruit, pistachio salad, rolls, and Paradise tea! It was great! I wish he lived here in El Paso and didn't have to go home to Albuquerque. We always have so much fun together!

We are so very blessed. It was fantastic to spend Christmas in our new house. I didn't get to putting up ALL the decorations this year since dad was in the hospital for his foot infection, but I know I will next year! I thought a lot of Mom & Bob and miss them dearly. I continue to remember how they are in heaven where there are no tears and are surrounded by God's presence. They're full of joy and would want me to be, also.

Merry Christmas and a joyous new year for 2010!
